The Launch Night Review

"Oh What a Night"

Button Image of the Nick Crawley Launch EventI seem to recall the lyrics from an old Four Seasons song which sums up the experience of the launch of the Wessex Filling Station... "Oh What A Night!"...

With just under 150 people gathering together for the launch of our local Filling Station, it was a wonderful time of corporate praise and worship with edifying teaching from our Keynote speaker: Nick Crawley. Nick had travelled across from Bristol during the day and spoke of his upbringing and calling in an interview with local director Andy Selby (pictured below); he then shared his passion with the audience for prayer and the thrill of seeing prayers miraculously answered by God.

After the meeting, during which quite a number of people responded to Nick's call for people to grow in a deeper relationship with their heavenly father; people were exuberant in their words of encouragement for the meeting itself and the concept of regularly getting the church together for unity meetings.

One church leader who came along incognito said "these types of unity gatherings are important for the church to come together and worship outside the normal constraints of their own church building." Another lady told how the worship team had inspired her in her personal worship and that the voices of the lady singers had been "like the voices of angels singing along." Yet another gentleman told of how he hadn't experienced such a touch of God in over twenty years. He went on to says that, "The Prayer Ministry Team was gentle and encouraging and I had a spiritual conversation with one of them like I hadn't experienced in decades; it was like deep speaking to deep and our spirit's soared as we conversed in a heavenly language which was like a waterfall of blessing to my soul...". This last explanation of a 'waterfall of blessing' was expressed by a plethora of people all of whom were deeply touched by God's presence and Spirit.

Another area that proved to be an excellent resource for blessing was the provision of BSL* Signers. So often when the church comes together it is an exclusive meeting for the hearing; at Wessex Filling Station we want to be All Inclusive so chose a location that was both wheelchair friendly and also hearing friendly. We have a small, but growing team, of BSL Signers who provided interpretation to the hard of hearing (HoH) and deaf. It was wonderful to see a young HoH lady who was literally dancing in the aisle who signing out loud. Speaker Nick Crawley said on the phone after the meeting that one highlight of this excellent launch meeting was praying 'through a signer' as he laid hands on a deaf man who had responded to the keynote speech.

It has been encouraging too to receive emails of thanks and affirmation from various people from different church denominations and streams who were there; all of whom where deeply encouraged by God's Holy Spirit; and all of whom were taken to a deeper level of understanding in their relationship with God.

As the Old Hymn says:

"Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise Him;
Praise with us the Lord of Grace!"

(Henry F. Lyte, 1834)
