Who is: Steve Brady?
The Revd. Dr. Steve Brady is best known as a regular speaker at Christian conferences across the country. He is the President of Moorlands College, and was principal there until the end of 2018 when he handed over the reigns to David Hilborn to take up the post of Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church, Grand Cayman.
Steve was born and educated in Liverpool, the home of The Beatles, The Liverbirds and the Royal Albert docks. Steve grew up in this famous city completing his education there and getting to know the area like the back of his hands. He came to faith in his teens and God moved deeply in his heart.
After graduation he became a local government officer in transport before training for ministry at London Bible College (now the London School of Theology). It was there that he met Brenda, who would go on to become his wife for the next forty years!
Pastor Teacher & Author
Pastor: Above all things Steve has a pastors heart, caring deeply about people and always making a effort to remember peoples first names. He has held pastorates in Buckinghamshire, Leicester, London and at the original Lansdowne Baptist Church, Bournemouth.

Not only has he taught at Keswick but he has served as a Trustee and board member of the Keswick Convention too. He was also the Chair of the Association of Bible College Principals for many years before handing over to the Revd. Dr. David Hilborn, who will also succeed him as the 4th Principal at Moorlands in January 2019. Author: Steve Brady holds a PhD degree in theology and is the author, contributor and editor of over a dozen books, including:
'King of Heaven, Lord of earth' - a study guide/commentary which digs deep into the letter to the Colossians and opens up the world of these first century believers to believers today.
'All You Need is Christ' - a comprehensive look at the book of Galatians which "is a breath of fresh air blowing through the musty cells of human imprisonment and despair." However Galatians reveals how Jesus - the Liberator - has come to set us free!
And 'The Incredible Journey – Christmas from Genesis to Jesus' - A book of readings for Advent and Christmas which shows how Jesus has come to take us home to God, no matter what our starting point. Within the pages of this book you find a rich story of Christ in the scriptures where we discover we never walk alone. The book also features Bible readings and reflections for each day from December 1st - January 6th.
Steve was Principal of Moorlands College between 1999-2018. His commissioning service overseen by Doug Barnett and Ian Coffey, and the worship leader was Brian Edgeley, then a sophomore student, but now one of the directors of Wessex Filling Station.
Moorlands College exists to equip people who are passionate about Jesus Christ, to impact the church and the world. It has been sited in Sopley, Christchurch since 1978 when it moved to the present location from Verwood. It offers many different training courses both undergraduate and postgraduate, and is a hub of activity for the local churches too with ongoing training for local ministers and some evening courses open to all.
Moorlands was founded by David Clifford who was inspired to set-up a bible training school in 1947. In 1948 he opened Matlock Bible College in Derbyshire. During 1955 the college moved from Matlock to Dawlish, and was renamed Moorlands Bible College. Moorlands now has three campuses - Moorlands Christchurch - its main centre, Moorlands South West (based in Torquay) and Moorlands Midlands in Birmingham. All Moorland degree courses are validated by the University of Gloucestershire.
The Family Man
Steve is a keen sportsman, he hates gardening and has an unrepentant attachment to Everton Football Club! He has two married children, Paul and Ruth, and four grandchildren, Daniel, Annabelle, Joshua and Samuel. In late December 2017 his beloved Brenda was promoted to glory after suffering for many years with Multiple sclerosis.
In late 2018 Steve travelled to Grand Cayman and took up post as Senior Pastor for First Baptist church. He had spoken there many times over the past 20 years and they had on many occasions asked him to consider going there to help them out. The church is a diverse, multicultural congregation with members drawn from every walk of life, in fact over 25 nationalities call First Baptist Church their spiritual home.
The Assistant pastor there is Bentley Robinson, a graduate of Moorlands himself and someone who has sat under the teaching of Steve on many occasion. Last January Steve spent some time in Grand Cayman with his children and gave deep consideration to there request to become their pastor.
We wish him every blessing and every success in Kingdom terms.
